Colliers International is actively seeking a Director, Owner’s Project Management Services to join our team serving the Los Angeles, CA region.  If you are an experienced professional seeking a new challenge in an exciting environment, this may be the right moment to join our highly respected team as we elevate our presence in this dynamic market on the West Coast.  The Director is responsible for leading and managing all project management/owner’s representation services in our core markets which include tenant improvement, residential, commercial, education, and institutional clients. The nature of projects includes new ground up, gut rehabs, modified renovation and historic rehab for both core and shell and fit up work.

Essential Functions
Candidates must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the project management process and roles of each team member, advanced knowledge of the design process practiced by the architecture, engineering and other consultants, and a thorough understanding of the construction process. The Director will assume responsibility for all project functions associated with the day to day planning, design, construction, commissioning and close out of projects. In addition, the Director will lead Business Development/Marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage and generally direct and oversee all activities for projects; must be able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Managing the coordination of multiple project team members, including assembling teams of architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors, and orchestrating their efforts on projects to meet clients’ goals and objectives
  • Leading the process of establishing the development goals and objectives for the Project with Ownership and project team
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating issues related to scheduling, logistics, sequencing, cost, quality and progress
  • Leads major project team discussions, such as legal claims
  • Reviewing and evaluating project related materials such as project descriptions, drawings and specifications, budgets, schedules, contracts, and proposals for services prepared by others. 
  • Reviewing construction documents on a regular basis for conformance to project goals, value engineering and constructability.  
  • Responsible for overall project financials and delivering reports as required.
  • Visiting project site as required and assess construction sequencing, quality, cost, and progress.
  • Leads Business Development and Marketing efforts in region
  • Work closely with brokers on relationship development and project pursuits


  • Demonstrated knowledge of the zoning, entitlements and approvals process of Los Angeles and neighboring area
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction process in Los Angeles
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 15+ years of progressive responsibility and experience in the building design / construction, architecture, and/or engineering field with projects of major scope and complexity
  • Experience managing tenant improvements, out of the ground construction, and renovation projects; high end residential and commercial project experience is ideal
  • Enthusiasm to promote and drive implementation of projects
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving skills, planning and organizing, decision-making, and multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication skills required to influence and lead; facilitation and team work capabilities. 
  • Administrative and reporting skills to work independently and generate concise and accurate spreadsheets, narrative reports, and correspondence.
  • Superior presentation skills required for team meetings as well as board level presentations
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and select PM software
